iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max and iPhone Xr to get live depth effect control with iOS 121 update: Report

With the new 2018 iPhones, Apple introduced a “new” camera feature that enables adjusting the depth of field after an image is captured. To access the feature, one will need to tap the Edit option and fine tune the bokeh effect using a slider. As per Macerkopf, via 9to5Mac, the option to pre-select the intensity of background blur while taking an image is being implemented with the iOS 12.1 beta update. One will reportedly see the slider on the bottom of the screen to tweak the depth setting and the changes will be reflected in real time. The option is similar to what apps like Snapseed and others offer. It is said to roll out for all users as part of an iOS 12 update later this year.  Speaking of the new iPhones, the new iPhone Xs, and the iPhone Xs Max are now up for pre-orders in India. The slightly cheaper iPhone Xr will come later in the country. The iPhone Xs Max and the iPhone Xs are quite similar, except for their screen sizes. The 64GB, 256GB and the 512GB of the iPhone Xs costs Rs 99,900, Rs 1,14,900 and Rs 1,34,900 respectively. On the other hand, the iPhone Xs Max starts at Rs 1,09,900 for the 64GB version and Rs 1,24,900 and Rs 1,44,900 for the 512GB model respectively. The two phones can now be pre-booked from Flipkart, the Airtel Online Store and Jio.com. Flipkart has exchange offers and cashbacks to allure customers who are pre-ordering the devices, and Airtel is also running cashback offers as a part of the pre-order offer. You can read more about the preorders here.  All the three iPhones run on Apple’s latest A12 Bionic chipset that comes with a new Neural Engine. Apple says that the previous SoC, the A11 Bionic could perform 600 Billion operations in a second and the new Neural Engine enables the A12 to perform 5 Trillion operations in the same time frame. Based on a 7nm manufacturing process with 6.9 billion transistors, the A12 Bionic features a six-core CPU and four core GPU. You can read in detail about the new A12 Bionic SoC here. In terms of display, the iPhone Xs features a 5.8-inch OLED Super Retina True Tone display with a notch on top, while the Xs Max sports the same display panel in a 6.5-inch size. Apple has cut costs on the iPhone Xr by equipping it with a 6.1-inch LCD “Liquid Retina” display. The Xs and the Xs Max iPhones are IP68 certified, while the iPhone Xr is IP67 rated.
